Dr.-Ing. Erik Buchmann is head of the Young Investigator Group Privacy Awareness in Information Systems and its Implications on Society at the Institut für Programmstrukturen und Datenorganisation (IPD), Universität Karlsruhe (TH).

Short CV

Erik Buchmann was born in Magdeburg, Germany in 1976. He received his Diploma (M.Sc.) in Business Informatics from the Otto-von-Guericke-University of Magdeburg, Germany in 2002. In 2006, he earned his Ph.D. in Computer Science (summa cum laude) from the same university. Since September 2006, Erik Buchmann is a research associate of the IPD, Universität Karlsruhe (TH). By 2007, he became head of the Young Investigator Group Privacy Awareness in Information Systems and its Implications on Society. His research interests include wireless sensor networks, self-organizing embedded systems and the impact of all kinds of ubiquitous systems on society.
